QuoData News
After three successful rounds with a continuously growing number of participants, QuoData is pleased to announce the next round of the interlaboratory trial “Hormonal Effects 2026,” dedicated to in vitro bioassays for the effect-based determination of hormonal activity in water and food samples. This external quality assessment (EQA) will take place in autumn 2026 and is organized by QuoData GmbH in cooperation with QD Labs.
The interlaboratory trial provides participating laboratories with the following opportunities:
QuoData at the InnovationForum Kunststofftechnik 2026
On April 21, 2026, QuoData will participate in the Innovation Forum Plastics Technology in Villingen-Schwenningen. The event is organized by the Kunststoff-Institut Lüdenscheid in cooperation with Technology Mountains e.V. and the IHK Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg.
- The global food safety and trade community gathers in Budapest for the 45th Session of the Codex Committee on Methods of Analysis and Sampling (CCMAS). QuoData’s Bertrand Colson and Steffen Uhlig, will be on-site to discuss groundbreaking new concepts for sampling bulk materials and heterogeneous lots.
Modern industrial operations demand predictive maintenance strategies backed by robust quality assurance. Yet many organizations struggle with a critical challenge: measurement uncertainty in sensor systems undermines the very foundation of reliable condition monitoring and accurate failure prediction.
In food microbiology and toxicology, as in many scientific disciplines, method validation can be a challenging task. The complexity stems not only from the strict experimental design and data requirements, but also from the advanced statistical modeling involved and the demand for structured, transparent documentation. Yet these are precisely the foundations for ensuring method reliability, laboratory quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
- QuoData is proud to announce another significant scientific contribution with the publication of “In-house validation of a droplet digital PCR system using a multifactorial experimental design”. In this study, Steffen Uhlig and Bertrand Colson, together with other scientists, present a robust, real-world approach to validating droplet digital PCR (ddPCR) systems.
- The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a temporary suspension of its bird flu testing improvement program. This decision arises amidst significant organizational changes, including staff layoffs. These adjustments have led to the disruption of various initiatives within the agency.
Structured data extraction—the process of transforming unstructured text, images, or documents into organized formats like JSON or databases—has undergone a revolution with large language models (LLMs). Here’s how AI reshapes this field and what you need to consider.
QuoData Participates in RAFA 2024 Symposium on Food Analysis
QuoData is excited to participate in the upcoming RAFA 2024, the 11th International Symposium on Recent Advances in Food Analysis, held in Prague from November 5th to 8th. This event will bring together experts in the field of food science to discuss the latest trends in analytical and bioanalytical strategies for food quality and food safety, alongside challenges and novel approaches in food and natural product analysis.
In a clinical external quality assurance (EQA) program, peer grouping is an option to ensure better-suited comparisons between laboratories. A peer group consists of laboratories that use the same or similar analytical methods, instruments, reagent systems, etc. Peer groups are helpful to identify systematic issues—such as due to instrument make, calibration drift or reagent issues—and for alleviating issues related to the non-commutability of samples (Tanasković et al., 2016).
Meet QuoData at EQALM 2024 in Vienna!
QuoData is excited to to contribute to 2024 EQALM Symposium and General Assembly, which will be held in Vienna, Austria, from October 16th to 18th. As an annual gathering of professionals in external quality assessment (EQA) across Europe, the EQALM symposium brings together key players to collaborate and share insights about laboratory medicine. The symposium is supported by IFCC (International Federation of Clinical Chemistry).

Qualitative and Quantitative Schemes with Cequator's Standardized Templates
Cequator is a powerful software tool that simplifies the reporting process for both qualitative and quantitative EQA schemes. By providing standardized templates aligned with best practices, Cequator ensures consistency and clarity in reporting across diverse EQA schemes allowing EQA providers to gain deeper insights into the performance of participating laboratories.
As an international company, QuoData is committed to creating an open, inclusive, and integrated working environment for all employees. Since 2024, QuoData has proudly become a part of the Wirtschaft für ein Weltoffenes Sachsen (Welcome Saxony).
QuoData is pleased to be part of the KI MOD PEM project (AI-based modular mapping of the PEMFC-MEA manufacturing process for quality control of intermediate and end products). This project is supported by the Central Innovation Program for SMEs (ZIM), a nationwide, technology- and industry-open funding program. KI MOD PEM has a duration of 2.5 years and runs until April 30, 2026.
Overview and Aim of the Study
QuoData is excited to announce the collaborative study on the characterization of soil invertebrate communities using DNA metabarcoding.
This study aims to validate genetic methods for soil invertebrate community characterization, focusing on DNA extraction and metabarcoding PCRs. These methods will be used for soil quality assessment. The validated methods will be submitted to ISO for preparation of new ISO standards.
An exciting opportunity for laboratories as the 2024 Interlaboratory Study for effect-based in vitro methods to detect hormonal activity in aqueous samples is set to launch this autumn. We invite you to participate in this study to enhance your laboratory's performance. Let's take a brief look at the first interlaboratory trial organized in 2021.
